Ask anyone in Biarritz who Maribel is, and you'll get a smile, then "everyone knows Maribel." They mean it literally.

As a kid, she tried everything until surfing made the rest beside the point. It's less a sport to her than a discipline: she's out in grey Atlantic winters as readily as summer, because time on a board is home.
