Systemic racism is a widespread problem in our society with many layers and should be challenged at its core. The GLCO BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) scholarship was created to provide educational opportunities for and alleviate the financial burden disproportionately faced by black, indigenous, and people of color marginalized by systemic and institutionalized racism.
Scholarship Application Eligibility and Criteria:

• Identify as a BIPOC

• Will graduate from a Los Angeles high school by the end of the 2020-2021 academic year

• Plan to pursue a major that works towards a career within the eyewear industry

• Have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA Plan on enrolling in a two-year or four-year college/university in the upcoming academic year

• Available to participate in a summer internship in the summer following your 1st year of college

Timeline
Upon successful completion and submission of scholarship application materials to GLCO, strong candidates will be invited to interview in late May-Early June. Scholarships will be awarded in late June-early July.
