World Cup in Los Angeles

By Garrett

The World Cup 2014 has officially gotten under way. As you might expect, Brazil is well represented here in Los Angeles, with more than one "Little Brazil" community in Los Angeles. One is not far from my house on Venice Blvd at Cafe Brasil and the Brazilian Market. We headed down for the opening game to check out some of the madness and indulge in a little Thursday afternoon sporting.

Brazil makes some of my favorite food on the planet and is amongst the top of my list of places I'd like to travel to one day.

Cafe Brasil opened in 1991 by Marcelino and specializes in a variety of Brazilian cuisines with everything from traditional to vegetarian options. Marcelino worked at some of Los Angeles' best restaurants in the 80's before deciding to open his own spot inspired by his home country.

The Brazil fans were out in full effect.

Then we headed over to check out what was up at Joseph's spot Wurstkuche. A german inspired restaurant that was supporting Brazil. Hopefully that's just for day 1.

Lisa was surely stoked about it.

And our very own GLCO Brazilian Helen Nishi was in the house as well.

Until next time….
