Hayes Opening Party

By Emily

Hey Hayes Valley! We’ve received the warmest welcome in San Francisco so far thanks to you. And if you were able to celebrate at our little housewarming with drinks courtesy of Scribe Winery and House Beer, then I’m sure you’re feeling the love too.

Opening this store has been a collective effort from everyone on our team and it was so nice to see everyone celebrate together. On the day of, we managed to put some finishing touches to the store that if you haven’t seen yet – you should. (And a shout out to our store manager Adam for putting in the extra hours to get everything ready in time.)

Our little garden of cacti is blooming proudly in the front window along with our 3-dimensional timeline that features miniatures of all of the current GLCO locations. You can also find our limited edition Made in San Francisco frame (that is, if there are any left after the event) along with our new Fall Holiday ‘15 collection displayed off on the West by West-designed shelves.

We gathered some of our favorite people together to tour the store and showcase the new collection. Some of you might recognize Nick Wooster, one of our largest supporters and friends of the brand. Representatives from Vanity Fair, Selectism, the LA Times, the SF Chronicle, Bloomingdale’s and NY Times were also able to make it out for the opening. We sincerely enjoyed their company and it was our pleasure to welcome them to our new city.

For a two-hour event on a Thursday night, we were very pleasantly surprised with the local turnout. As the new kids on the block it can be tough to gauge interest and predict what kind of response we might receive. But based on the sweet messages that we keep receiving days after the event, it’s safe to say that it was a hit. Even the other Hayes businesses hadn’t seen a turnout like that on a weeknight before! But it’s not really surprising considering GLCO is known to throw a bangin’ party.

See you in the neighborhood soon!
