Bosey Masket Studio Session

By helen

This weekend we went to check out the music of Bosey Masket,  Tyler Steele's newest music project.  Tyler is just one of those people that you root hard for. Ever since the moment I met Tyler he put a smile on my face. One of the warmest and most genuine individuals in this city. A rad dad and husband and friend as well as a talent passionate musician. We actually first met, like I met many of my friends in Venice, at Gjelina. Back then his name was Viper, well it was Tyler, but if you every looked closely at your receipt, his name was Viper. Some people know what I'm talking about, probably even better than me.

Anyway, I digress, since then Tyler has been recording and playing  music but has yet to release an official record.  This will be his first in more than a decade of music endeavors. He worked on his forthcoming debut album “Even Trade” with a group of players well-known in L.A environs.  His collaborators included Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes, Ryan Richter of He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister and Aaron Older of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. “Even Trade” is due to be released Feb. 18 — and the artist, director Matt Green and friends have made a whimsical short film, set in the ’70s, in which a masked wolf tells Bosey Masket that in the future he will be able to “solicit money from millions of random strangers” via something called “the Internet.” An extremely well done piece if I do say so myself.

Check out his new music and story here.
