Turns out putting your denim in the freezer instead of washing them is a bad idea, what a surprise! According to Josey Orr, purveyor of denim and co-creator of the mindfully crafted brand Dyer & Jenkins, a simple wash and hang dry is the best strategy to get the stank out of your jeans. So don't have a heart attack hipsters, no one is watching. Orr, a Pennsylvania native living in Venice Beach, pronounces his hometown in rural Pennsylvania as his favorite place in the world despite his love for the west coast.
A few years back, Orr tackled the crowdsourcing strategy head-on by launching a Kickstarter campaign in an effort to get his denim brand Dyer & Jenkins off and running. Focusing on a made in Los Angeles high quality product with eco-friendly materials and a travel and outdoors lifestyle DNA, D& J (not sure they are cool with that abbreviation), has created a following unlike other options on the market. What else sets them apart you might ask? Josey's says it best, "The blue jean is so American, so simple, anything more than that is unnecessary." Which makes sense for a man who's least favorite thing about the industry is "stuck up trend chasers." Which we agree with here at GLCO, who needs em? We don't like to plug too hard here, but we are co-signing this one, get out there and support local entrepreneurs and craftsmen, it will be good for the economy and good for the lower half of your body, a deadly combination.
