Our first GLCO location opened its doors in December 2012 on La Brea Ave. in the heart of LA. The 1000 square foot space features our complete collection of acetate and metal frames and is staffed by licensed opticians who can help you select the right style, adjust or customize your frames and lenses, and fill your prescription. La Brea features interactive displays with large scale imagery, listening stations with downloadable mixtapes, and free printed copies of our Spectacle magazine.
June 16, 2016 marked the opening of our fourth GLCO boutique in the heart of Venice on Abbot Kinney Blvd. This is a special location – it's where it all started for us on November 6, 2009 with Garrett's first shop, A. Kinney Court at 1423 Abbot Kinney. The new 850 square foot space is an experiment of sorts with an onsite optical lab offering on site prescription lenses as well as the ability to cut custom sunglass lenses and matte frames within one hour. The quick turnaround is in line with our belief in high quality service and we hope to bring this service to all of our GLCO locations. GLCO Venice also accepts flex spending.
In September 2015 we opened our second retail location in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. The 900 square foot space integrates our minimalist style, natural material finishes, and a visual timeline of GLCO store models with the local architectural language of the City by the Bay. The centrally located, highly walkable Hayes Valley has become a destination for a creative community looking for a unique shopping experience and includes top American retailers, popular bars and restaurants, and open green spaces.
Our New York outpost opened in December 2015 between Crosby and Lafayette in the heart of SoHo. The 1100 square foot store features a custom shopping experience that allows customers to personalize their frames and includes a striking serpentine garden of cacti and succulents with bench seating, an analog vinyl listening station, and a lower level where GLCO opens the space to artists, musicians and events.
